Or pay someone else to do it whose done before if you don't feel confident.
Try Maz or Northants V twin or tubbs whichever you are closest to. A new head is eye watering in price  |

That may be the case but I've hacked fairly new std exhausts open to carry out the 'Tubbs modification' (rearranging the tubes inside) and found a lot of internal rot. I think it would only be a matter of time before they rust through ... |
