I think you mis-understand me, GM.
There is not such word spelled as 'nowt' in English, but there is 'naught', which means the exactly the same.
I was musing if the former was in fact yet another Northern dialect word that had been subject to Caxtonisation in it's spelling/pronounciation.

Like I said, I have this weird interest.......

Blimey! Cheers, GM, I seem to have entirely missed that.

In my aged, dog-eared copy though, it offers the alternative spelling as 'naught'. So 'apparently', it is.

Do I detect that for some reason you are starting to get the hump, ol' fruit?
No need to, old chap, I'm just using this medium to satisfy my interest in the language. I'm not taking the piss/winding anybody up/being bloody awkward.

Carry on.......

I am pleased.
That's the problem with this internet forum malarky, you cannot see the gleam in the eye, the scowl or indeed, the look of captivated interest.

As for weird interests, I also have this penchant for old, decrepit motorcycles ;)

Still for sale.

If anyone wants a pretty well spanking STT for a decent price then please PM me. It deserves a good home. I am not a scammer and have genuine reason for sale. :D

You have a valid offer of £3,250............how close can you get.

Bearing in mind that next year it will be worth less especially if the factory doesn't open again. Then you won't be able to give it away, Maz will even charge you to throw it in the river.
