I have a 98 S1 sat in my garage. I've only ridden it once, to check it worked, and it did. I bought it with the plan of coming back to the UK, but somehow I've ended up in Australia instead, so it really doesn't make any sense holding onto it. The full story of how I ended up with it, with pictures of the bike, can be found in the following two threads:

Anyway, I paid 5k for it. Since then it's been ridden about 1 mile, and sits all forlorn and alone in my games room with just an optimate for company.

Looking for 5k for it :P

If interested please PM me.

Or you could have a Buell scattered in all corners of the world ready for you wherever you may be.

Trouble is they're never ready. I've been back to the UK several times since I bought the bike, but to ride it I'd have to unSORN it, tax it, MOT it, get insurance for it, then SORN it again afterwards. I'm never back long enough to be arsed to do all that lOl

No, not fair point... you could keep it Taxed and insured all year round for less than £300 (which is surely small change to you ;) ), and then it's ready for your pleasure at any time... and view the MoT Test as just another opportunity to ride it, renew that early so that it's not expired upon your next 'conjugal visit'...
Compared to what is spent on man-hobbies, it's small beer... but of course it does all depend on whether you really do love it and want to ride it...

He's in Australia now. Why the hell would he come back? Not like the weather would be better.

Ship it to Oz. Or the USA. ;) No need to MoT, Sorn, insure, etc. It can sit forever. My FXDX sat for 11 years. No one cared.

Why would they? Its a FXDX! They wee hoping that it would rot in peace.

I honestly think that I'd ride a CX 500 in preference.

Much as it galls me to say anything positive about HD, the FXDX was actually a fairly reasonable motorbike. Mine took me all over Europe a few times in comfort, and it was capable of harassing badly ridden Sportsbikes. Ultimately flawed by decking out in lefthanders as soon as you leave a motorway lOl

Well, yes, but...

Pain in the ass buying out of state, never mind out of country.

I'll look after it
Seriously Mr Bonzo...keep it!
It doesn't matter how or how much or where its stored...DO NOT LET IT GO!
Not only is it one of the "last of the real bikes" but its "One of the last REAL Buells "
If you do let it go...you will regret it in the future

I know, I know, I know. :sad1: If I do sell it I'll get another one here. I guess I could try and bring it here, but importing to Oz is an extreme pain in the ass.
