91 bhp @ 5800

Has a standard Sportster engine ever put out that much power?

I think there may be a few holes in your facts Pash.

I think the following:

S1's were made from 1996 to 1998.
Some were left over and registered in 1999 with the new X1 model.
The figures you use for bhp are for hp and therefore bhp is lower.
The S1W was launched with a thunderstorm heads, bigger tank (manta) and headers and had a choice of 4 frame colours and 4 body colours giving 16 variants. Only the white frame with white bodywork was titled the S1 White Lightning. All the other colours were S1W, these were also called Lightning Strikes in the UK.
That is all I know.

Spook, all S1 had same headers outlet. Different headers outlet were US (2.5") and export (2"). Frankly, there's so much wrong with the "facts" above that it isn't worth correcting.
