I'm throwing all £2 coins into a tin for my AST, 1 year later, it's about half full. Be a while yet,. Keep us in the loop with your experiences.
Got to say, your really getting on with this.

I'm only half joking when I say I have a bit of an obsessive compulsive nature................. its a terrible affliction when mixed with the ownership of obsolete bikes with reducing spares availability.

And you can double the cost because for every pound I spend on my bikes, Mrs Park takes as authority to spend the equivalent or more on; clothes, shoes and golf clubs etc.

The upside is that she currently wants a new set of golf bats which be roughly the same as an AST shock - so she is actively encouraging me to order "that bike frame thingy"

I do it slightly diferently, dont tell the wife. When the wife has to sign for things, my answer to the question is mumble, mumble, technical babble, mumble mumble. When her eyes start to glaze, I know I have won - yet another overpriced American import through the door, occasionally I get a little dig like 'suppose its another bit for your bike/ kites', mumble probably and change the subject.

Good job the wife does not read this forum :D

Kites probably cost more, I fly this sort of thing in my 'spare time' at carnivals/ fetsivals/ fete's. This ones not mine, but I have the exact same kite (30 metres tall).

I was joking y'know lOl Anyway, after that revelation, you're obviously the sort of person that goes for Buells (not run of the mill by any standards, or, in common parlance, bonkers) lOl

That wont work for me. When a parcel arrives, Mrs Park simply smiles, silently assigns it a cost, and lodges it in that part of the brain ladies have for keeping the marital score. And she doesn't base it on what's in the parcel, it's based on the price of the latest golf bat she's been stalking..... :o
