Has anyone got new part no. 38613-03c sitting around that they dont want?

It is for an XB lightning, but will fit an X1 as well, apparently noone in uk has them in stock???? And a couple of days from Belgium on priority! So mine has stretched a lot today about 3-4 mm, so if it goes twang, I am fooked!

If you have one PM me with your email address for a paypal job. Cant believe no hd-buell dealer carry them in stock

Are you 100% sure the cable has stretched ? sudden change in clutch feel on an xb could be due to a cracked primary cover where the clutch actuator fits...tis a fairly common problem.

Sorry, got that completely wrong, it happens with a 5 year old in the room., its for an X1 lightning 2001 , but the XB lightning part number will fit X1 as well , according to the man who has 4 in stock but doesn't do mail order anymore ( :headbang: :maz: mazz don't blame you mate, the advice is better keep it coming....)

Already ordered though in on Thursday Lunchtime.

Bear in mind that the bike is 8 years old and 11k on the clock, so it could be the first ever cable change, or at the last service, the cable oil actually penetrated the whole cable.

As far as I am concerned , a cable feeling like it has stretched, says replace cable anyway , if it is the clutch primary cover, I will inspect after new cable is in place. In this case I hope I am right and you are wrong 'kevmean'. By the way are all primary covers that bad? I do use the clutch a hell of a lot to feed in revs in traffic......

Already ordered one mate from Warr's in Mottingham, I am only in Eltham SE london, bit worried about this cracked primary casing lark, I suppose I have to crack it open to find out? How much are they if it is that?

Put that about the primary cover as i read it that it was for an XB.........as far as i'm aware the X1's don't have the problem with cracked covers ;)
