Ha ha ha nice one Andy. Ibis it doesn't matter what headers you use. Get em polished and fit whatever silencer you can afford. Maz will say Albert headers and pipe werx silencer. That's ok if that's in he Budget.if not standard headers polished and whatever silencer you're running.

The X1 W sounds like it's going to be a cracker.

Magz has an X1 that has been breathed on by Maz - it's not my first choice in the garage but when I do ride it I normally love it :D I seem to remember it needs more stuff...

If I'm honest the reason I'm never that keen to ride it is the mega sloppy gear change that pretty much has no feel. Not knowing if it's properly in gear freaks me a bit - I know, first world problems :D Do they all do that, is there a fix?

The SX by contrast is really positive and tends to be the bike of choice if I'm going on a run.

When the sun is cracking the flags I like the Buell out, its not particularly that good at anything except making me smile.
Gear change is perfectly ok as long as your not trying to ride it to hard, I blip the throttle probably not for any other reason than it sounds good between most gear changes and I've never missed one on it, its all a bit old school and won't be rushed thats all.

Dave H is right, do it to suit your budget, I would suggest you powder coat your frame though while its apart, I can't remember what it cost but in the scheme of things, its feck all.

Andy

Yes I throughly agree Andy, when people ask me why I like my X1 say " yeah it's pretty average at everything" but it always makes me smile. It has done for nearly eighteen years 😎 The recent riding on new bikes has even reinforced that feeling. The clutch is heavy, the gear change slow but, I wouldn't have at any other way. I just enjoy the lazy torque. I will stretch my budget as much as I can but, it's not the be all and end all in my life. To me it's all about the balance. How ever much I do or don't spend it's my "loreal " bike ( worth it )
