My Mother was admitted to hospital with a relatively minor unconnected matter, and caught Covid whilst in their care. That was harrowing enough, but we are still trying (every feckin day) to get someone to sign a scrap of paper for her body to be released to the undertaker. 11 days and counting. Disgraceful.

This is something I understand fully...when my mother passed (04 Dec 2016) we had to wait until 28th to get her released
Buried her on the 3rd Jan, and we were lucky? there as we had to get issues sorted as my brother had to have a BIG cancer operation on the 5th
I can only imagine the shit and heartbreak Covid has added to what are already difficult times for folk
Stay strong

I`ve just had a "Miss"erable girlfriend for the last couple of weeks whilst she waits for news of her vaccine appointment as she is in the next group .
She spent 45mins on the phone to her surgery asking repeatedly if she was in this group as she is a type one brittle diabetic with kidney and eye problems. Computer says no , computer says no! Eventually and after threats to forward the problem to the local MP the answer came that "o yes you are on the list".
If your underlying health problems are dealt with by certain specialists in your hospital then you may not show up on your local GP list who are dealing with the vaccine .
This is in Wales .
Jab next Friday.

I must say that my experience with the vivid jab was excellent. I got a text on Thursday from my GP hub, booked for Friday. Turned up at the vac centre & it was like a well oiled military operation. 25 minutes from entering the car park to leaving that's with the mandatory 15 min wait after the injection. Had the phizer vaccine & felt a bit shit today, apparently it's the worst one for side effects. But glad it's done nonetheless. Thanks NHS.x

I’ve written strong and wordy (typical of me) letters to both mine and her GP as my partner is disabled and quite vulnerable for a number of reasons, but she has been told by a consultant that she is not at risk. If l catch it she will almost certainly get it and visa versa. l can’t see how we could manage as her visiting professional carers would not be allowed to do the lifting required and we don’t have the equipment (another long story  ). In spite of our situation we do not appear to be listed for early vaccination. Next week her children go back to school. :headbang: Time to kick that bloody computer wherever it sits!

That’s not all. I went to my own GP surgery this morning to speak to the office staff via the letter box sized window to the outside world to tell them directly about the action taken by my partners GP. I’d only got a few words out when my own GP stepped out the front door wearing an operating hat, coat and mask. He called to me by name to say that he’d got my letter, but hadn’t had time to act on it yet, but that he would do ASAP. ;) Shortest visit ever to my doctors! :yup:

Here we go....I got contacted by the NHS by letter a few weeks ago advising me to MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! (which i immediately ignored due to it impolite wording)
A few days later I received a text message from my GPs informing me that I could (if I wished) make a booking for my "JAB" (see how informal they're trying to make it sound?)...a few days after that, I got a gentle reminder text to say I could book through the GPs (which after a good "heart to heart" with the missus) I did...
Only had to wait a few days....got "Jabbed", but while I was there I did ask which vaccine they thought they would try and put in me...."ah (Mr very suspicious) we are going to give you the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine!"
"Thank fuck for that" comes the reply " I would have refused and kicked off if you'd try and give me that American Pfizer shite......I don't have American shite inside MY body....that includes KFC....McDonald's....and fuckin Coca fuckin Cola"!
The staff that gave me my vaccine were well humoured (thank fuck) and the whole thing was done with "military precision"...I have had NO bad reaction, ill effects or anything else......which is a total contrast to what I've heard about the Pfizer vaccine (shits...shakes...spews...feeling really crook)
They couldn't tell me when they will try (humanely....God only knows why) to vaccinate the missus (who in a health aspect is more vulnerable than I) :? as apparently they have over 5000 patients within the practice to sift their way through! ;) lOl

Just makes me think that if they gave Aldi checkout staff the ability to give the vaccine..we would have done the whole nation 3 weeks ago ;)

My partner had the Pfizer shite today with no ill effects! ;) I got an NHS envelope inviting me to apply online!

I’m beginning to think that this vaccine business is a bit like working for local government. If you just sit quietly and get on with your job they let you suffer until you are working way beyond your pay scale or job description. If you kick up a fuss they give you an upgrade! lOl

:yt: seen it many times :old:
the "workers" they need to get the job done .
the jobsworths and dickheads tend to get moved , "upgraded " out of harms way, so that the workers can carry on producing the goods without distraction
