It really is a thin blue line between normal reasonable folk and the dregs of society and it's getting thinner all the time. What Andy and his colleagues have to put up with is not appreciated by enough people hence the inner turmoils. The same, to a degree for the other emergency services who do a great job and always for others, yet still have to deal with n'er do wells and scum at times.

It is such a shame that it's the good guys that suffer so much. Many will be mourning his loss. I am sure he had a positive effect an so many people. I still have his one piece oversuit (that he'd accept no money for) and armbands that he was selling for Police charity.

RIP and may his friends and family cope and remember him well. :sad1:

Andys funeral is next Thursday 15th September at Dukinfield crematorium (which is just around the corner from my shop) at 9.30 am.
His son has asked for as many of his UKBEG friends as possible to attend, preferably on their bikes.

Just in case anyone is interested, Andy didn't do flowers, his favoured charity was Chasing Rainbows, which was set up by Nicola Hughes mum to support various police officer support causes.

Sort code 01-08-99
Natwest Bank
Uppermill branch

Please referance UKBEG and Andrew Summerscales with your donation so that Sue Hughes knows where it's from.

Any news on of anyone is able to make it on bikes? I'm trying to make plans to ensure I take a suit as well as riding kit if required.

We're away for the week doing track day, posh do and a funeral - it's more of an admin challenge than you'd think ;)

It'd be good to be able to comply with the bike request if we can. Difficult on a working day I know.

Is anyone coming on bikes ?......I really need to know :)
Josh, who is Andy's 20 year old son has taken all the responsibility for organising his dads funeral, he wont accept any help as he wants to do him proud and he's made a big deal out of the bike thing.
Logistically I will have to arrange for any bike riders to meet up at my shop for 8am (only Andy could get me out of bed for that time !) in order to make their way around to Andys house and hook up with the hearse for the trip to the crem.
Got to be honest, present weather forcast for thursday is not good ie. raining :x but that could change ?......I'm on pall bearing duty, so will be suited and booted, non of my bikes are taxed or tested but might sort that if needs be :)
Please post up here if you're able to attend on a bike.....it would make a young mans day if he knew he'd done his best for his dad.

Maz, thanks for that, we'll send something when we return home.

We'll be thinking of you plus all Andy's family and friends on Thursday.
