....that has bothered me for some time.
If you were going to the dentist, would you brush your teeth ?
If you were going for a medical exam, would you shower first ?
I'm hoping the answer to these questions would be a yes ?
So, why is it OK to present me with a minging POS that hasn't been cleaned in ages ?....covers me, my clothes, lifts, tools, workshop, etc in shit, job takes much longer to do and if you couldn't give a shit about your bike or me, I'm inclined to take a similar attitude !

Discuss.

I suspect you already know the answer to that question, Maz. Nonetheless, I am interested to hear other folks perspectives.

For the last 38 years, as part of the service offered to our customers when delivering their new bed, is to dispose of their old one. This was a service we used to offer for free. No longer,we now make a charge for handling other peoples shit, so perhaps Maz you might do the same.

I do remember a story at the flying club many years ago about a person who never cleaned his car , whilst he was up flying some club mates washed and polished half of the car the passenger side lOl

I'm sure we could come to some arrangement. Especially for £40 an hour. I'll even bring my own bucket and soap :hehe:

Thanks for the offer Dave, but you're under qualified for that job ;) :rotfl:

All of my clients "equipment" has to be scrupulously clean before I handle it ;) ...although some do pay a premium for "final detailing" lOl

The trouble ia also people's standards. I've seen some vehicles that have been supposedly cleaned, only to see an averagely clean example. But yes Maz I would expect a certain level to be presented. But I'm sure you made your feelings known and also " educated" the culprit.( poor Sod 😊)

There's the rub, "Standards".
I'm still trying to claw back 8 years of the shit standards of previous owners, should be about there in another 5 years.
Some people just hate cleaning & maintaining their bikes. I've seen GSXR's & R1's with rusty partially seized chains the f****n' idiots.
Shame on them. :sad1:

This thread also reminds me of one HD dealer who offered me their demo Buell XB, which was quite dirty and the standard muffler was a rusting pile of crap. Not to mention the abuse it had possibly suffered from previously ham fisted punters! :? Eg they gave me an impatient look when l sat idling the engine after a cold start up!

I wouldn’t have bought it at half the asking price! lOl
