For those with an interest, this 3 part dramatisation follows the horrific evil perpetrated here in Pembrokeshire, by the serial killer John Cooper. It will open old wounds for those affected in many ways. Less than a mile from where I am sat resides one of the senior police officers involved in both atrocities. I cannot imagine what demons he has had to deal with. Living remotely where we do, whilst I am not proud of the fact, I slept with a loaded 45 Smith & Wesson magnum in my bedside drawer for a number of years, such was the fear that the crimes had .

Was your bedside draw refrigerated? I always wanted to sleep with a Magnum close by, but could never find the correct appliance.

:oooops: Yep you are correct twas a .44. I also had a nickel plated .357 magnum, a toy in comparison to the Dirty Harry lOl. And the series is on over 4 nights. In my defence, I started into my Brew Dog Christmas advent hamper. I am not a beer drinker normally, and 8.3% may have sent me a bit squiffy. Just as well they took the handguns away :sad1:

I would imagine that many motorcycle enthusiasts who buy spare parts for bikes, carry motorcycle spares like a fork leg in their car?

Interesting series for those of us that knew nothing about it until this week. We stayed in a Talbenny Hall Cottage 18 mths ago, walking the coastal path to Little Haven throughout the week we were there.

Sounds like a pretty fraught time.

At the time of the Scoveston Park murders, Cooper was living 6 fields away as the crow flies. The vast majority of the burglaries and robberies that he commited were within 2 to 3 miles of that same house. Most of these crimes were commited under the cover of darkness. The Coastal Path murders of the Dixons is the one I could never understand, it appears totally random, nearly 10 miles from his home, in broad daylight and at that time of the year very busy with holiday makers. If you can ever get hold of a copy of this book, it makes an interesting read.

The way in which it was portrayed on the TV, I would not have convicted him, I am still not sure if he was guilty.
