Not being party to social media, I feel like I have missed out on a whole world of angst and vitriol brought on by the Trump Presidency. It’s been four years of relative calm to me, apart from having had my own battles to deal with on behalf of my disabled partner.
Instead of just listening or reading all the hysteria surrounding the downfall of Trump’s presidency I preferred to do some actual reading on what he achieved or tried to do.
So what has this egotistic-narcissistic-racist-ignorant tweeting bully achieved apart from alienating the US from much of the world and allegedly condemning 237,000 citizens to death by Covid and recently inciting an invasion of Capitol Hill?
Much of what he attempted in trade and foreign policy appears to have been a mixed bag. Two positives that stand out were; 1/ reduction in business tax from 35 to 21% although some point to a windfall for big business. 2/ changes to the criminal justice system look fairer and actually more humane for convicted criminals and inmates, but some aspects like allocation of judges seem to have more to do with expanding his influence of power.
In some people’s minds even to look for positives make you a deluded-ignorant-racist-sexist-Brexit loving moron!
I guess that describes me to a T....except perhaps for the racist-moron bit.
Maybe some on here can enlighten me to some things I’ve missed?
