Post subject:  Why?

New to the forum here. Rode motorcycles from the age of 16 to 33, then gave up forever. Well, 29 years. Bought an SV as a "toe in the water excercise" and the mania kicked back in!
Got 4 months until pension day when I plan to take a bit of cash to fund an NTV700 Deauville (I like touring but not huge bikes) and an XB9 or 12- pref R as I can still ride leaning forward.
Still plan to keep both my SV650S's as I still need a few more years to work out whether I prefer the Curvy or the Pointy. Still plan to keep the Honda C90s too.
So the question is WHY do I want a Buell? I have perused the forum and found a sort of answer. I just do! It's not a reasoned decision. I have told many people of my decision so that I have to do it. Told my best mate last year (ex wife, knows nothing about bikes but did used to let me bring my Bonnie into the dining room to polish it in winter) she bought me a pair of keyrings and T shirt from the States. Got to be done then.
Went to a local bike gathering (I'm in SE Essex) today and a chap turned up on an X1 Lightning. Another sign from above saying it's the right thing to do.

Get a Buell, take the mirrors off, and you'll never look back :old:

That's brilliant I'll use that!
Although I have been told that you don't need to take the mirrors off to not be able to see behind. Laugh out loud as they say, apparently.

6 months later.........
Didn't buy the Deauville, splashed out on a BMW F800 GT with all the bells and whistles. I must like it because I have done 2,500 miles in 4 weeks. Finally found a Firebolt (through this very forum) and picked it up yesterday. Been out and about on it for a couple of hours. Back in the early 2000's I saw an XB9R and found Buell's excellent website with videos, spent a lot of time on that one (at work).
So, after about 14 years waiting, was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY!
See you at Copdock, hope the stand is nearish to the C90 Club stand. :D

Two months on..... It's now November and I have noticed a problem. I generally go shopping on a Honda C90 or a new Chinese clone with a big box. If, however, I am only going out for small items and the sun is out I fire up the Bolt. This usually ends up with a protracted burble around Essex. 4 hours yesterday. Got nothing done but time well spent I reckon.:D

Your reading the signs wrong!
The guy turning up on the X1 is a sign telling you to buy a tuber over a fueller (XB)
Dare I say it..... because tubers are better!
I think the Fueller or tuber debate is now open...................again!
Welcome to the madhouse of Buell
