Purrrrfect, just perfect - we've had a brilliant time in Germany. Excellent (very) warm weather, stunning scenery, well surfaced roads, great people and tasty food :P - did I mention it was just perfect? :D

We'd like to thank Thomas, Jens and all of the Pegasus Race Team for being so hospitable and for making us feel so welcome. It was also good to meet up with Gunter plus Ronnie, Walter and friends from the Dutch Buell forum.

Oschersleben is an impressive circuit and being so close to the Buell and EBR race bikes, and seeing them being prepared and raced, was a real buzz. This event is a must for any Buell enthusiast and one which we hope to attend next year. In addition to the Buells there were plenty of European V-twin and flat twin race machines.

We spent 2 days at the Oschersleben Motorsport Arena and 2 1/2 days riding in the Harz Mountains National Park and Weserbergland, south of Hannover, areas of Germany that we'd not visited before. The Harz Mountains are only 25 miles south of Oschersleben so it was easy to combine the Pegasus Buell event with some great riding opportunities.

Both the Ulysses (38,737) and Jane's Guzzi (62,077) ran faultlessly. We covered a total of 1,330 miles.

We have lots of pictures to sort through and will post a selection in due course.

We've got one picture from the Oschersleben circuit uploaded - only another 50 or so to do :D.....

From the Dutch Buell forum, left to right: Speedy, Bas, Ronnie and Walter, with Jane :4roz:....

Finally, the first in a selection of pictures from our recent trip to the Pegasus Buell Experience event.....

The new Erik Buell Racing 1190RS road bike - the first example in Europe. This is the Carbon Edition model and looks absolutely stunning :P...
It was in standard road trim and used extensively on the track - it was quiet but extremely fast:

Erik Buell Racing 1190RR / Pegasus race bike - rider Harald Kitsch was crowned both 2011 Superbike Open and BEARS champion at Oschersleben:

Pegasus 1190 Typhon - also used extensively on the track, very noisy and extremely fast:

Another selection of pictures, featuring air-cooled Buells. Most of the Buells used on the track were XB's with only two tube-framed models present, a 1400cc special and an X1:

Excellent set of photos Chris :yup: Cracking bikes there. That new Buell is gong to be uncomfortable for Jane on the back
Looks one hell of an event.

Helped in no small part by the brilliant weather, this was one of the best Buell events we've attended :P...

If Pegasus run another Buell Experience event at Oschersleben next year we'll use the Hotel Korling again - http://www.hotel-koerling.de The hotel is an 'official partner' of the circuit so they're very biker friendly and located in some lovely countryside approx. 9 miles from the circuit. It proved to be an excellent choice.

As mentioned earlier, there's a great selection of machinery at an event such as this - it allowed us to indulge our passion not only for Buells but also for European motorcycles.....

A bit after the event but here's the final selection of pictures from the trip:

Moto Guzzi:
Dynotec, Germany, Guzzi V13 Racing 'Guzzilla' - 1288cc, 147 PS @ 8400rpm, 145 NM @ 6600rpm. Details: http://www.dynotec.de

During any trip to the Netherlands we always call in to see our good friends at Teo Lamers, Nijmegen, one of Europe's best solus Moto Guzzi dealers - http://www.tlm.nl

Jane fell in love with this big bore 820cc V7 built by Teo Lamers:

Tony - just between you and me :D....

I too find myself strangely attracted to flat-twin BMW's that have been customised. The pictures below show the group of BMW riders that were staying at our hotel during the UKBEG trip to the Black Forest, in June 2009. All their bikes were specials and they looked breathtaking in the metal, the pictures don't really do them justice.

Nice pics Chris, missed a lot of bikes as I went only once around the parking lot and pitboxes.
Most Buells on track were, strangely, Lightnings and a lot of them customised,

( notice the 1000 mile stare; being in a group with Ronnie and 3 other Dutch nutters on 1125's)

There's some beautiful and well sorted bikes there 8-)

Spookily enough, I've started to like those roundhead Beemer racers too  There was a lovely one racing at Tonfanau a couple of weeks ago.
The silver one in Brightonia collection of photos also caught my eye 8-)
