As a new M2 Cyclone owner who has saved a said model from dissolving into a pile of oxidation, I am just posting here a project progress step by step. Would welcome tech comments on what may or may not work and advice when I get stuck. Its not a concours rebuild as I my previous projects have been custom.

Starting the teardown. Manual says use an engine crane. Straps and rafters an easier option.

Just about ready to take the heart out of the rib cage. The tree stump to support the engine is a mandatory and essential tool. Dismantling is not quite as easy as an 883 XL. There has been much cursing Buell Engineering design dept on why the very challenging routing of the wiring harness and oil hose.

If you checkout the pix in this thread viewtopic.php?f=7&t=15807&start=30 you will see that there's no need for a crane or straps etc. from the rafters :)

Hi...great link thanks...wish I had seen that a few months ago. Did you use the paddock stand for the teardown as well as the rebuild ?

Looking 4ward to getting another tuber and some spare "cabbage" and letting him loose on it.

Why would you want a chain, the belt is a bonus on this bike.
