PMs? :P An other ally bits? My arms are sore.

There's a reason my HDs and other bikes have had no chrome and polished stuff for the past 20 years... polishing sucks. Last bike I had with PMs was a RS1200 with the 4 spoke spun PMs. Liked the look, hated cleaning them. Guess I forgot.

Took a whole weekend to polish the swingarm satisfactorily except for one bit of scarring that's too deep to get out. And the PMs were in serious need of love after sitting 7 years. Starting to regret having bought a bike with PMs.

Starting to look better now. But I have a ways to go, I'm just getting started. Recently decided to redo the bike to a somewhat show-bike state. Seems like the respectful thing to do. Weather is about perfect now and in 4 months it will be 100 F in the garage again.

Looked like a coal miner by the time I was done. Not that you guys could remember what one looks like. :couch:

Only got one more piece to do in the near future...the tail. I'll source another to do. I kind of hate the thought of destroying the matching snap red paint. I posted up the whole matched set on BWB the other day but no bites. I have another set of plastics I'll be using.

I'll likely buy some Spondon trees down the road rather than polish mine. But I'll get some opinions on the handling first. I've heard the geometry was altered a bit but have no personal knowledge of Spondon bits.

Lots of ugliness going on at the mo'. I've been hoarding bunches of parts for it for a while. Lots of tearing down to do first. Taking advantage of the nice weather for this instead of riding it.
