Hi, I've just bought a lovely S1 and wanted to explore changing the wheels to spoken as the casts are past there best.
Does anyone know of a good and affordable option?
There are several very expensive Italian option but are about 2+ grand plus rubber etc.? Beyond my means....

Thanks for you help, and as a new owner great to read back over all the posts and great information.

I doubt you'll find a cheap spoked alternative. Why not just get the wheels powder coated?

There's one near me with XB wheels but looks like a fiddle about to chop it over :yup:

There was someone on here who did it... but I can't recall his name!
Come on folks... he built that alloy caff racer thing, think his location line was, "In a shed in Hampshire" ..not far from me in Horndean IIRC

Don't ask Maz, he'll tell you its a shit idea and make you wish you didn't ask.
Have your wheels stripped and recoated, they will look like new.
