I had a Maico 440 frame that I put a Suzuki SP400 motor in so I could use it as a green laner. The drive was on the opposite side so the rear wheel had to be flipped around. Never had a problem with it.

Bearings being one concern.

Are the bearings even in the wheel or are they in the swingarm ? The wheel is probably just on a stub axle.

bearings in both. bearings are not directional,
the bearings in the swinging arm will be subject to torsional stress as the shock pushes centrally,
therefore full loading will be transmitted to one side.
the wheel bearings are running on a stub [same as most car wheels] and should not suffer any change in wear rate or loading's.
the wheel spokes appear to be directional in design, having said that the greater loading would be under acceleration, so looking at the wheel the spokes they would appear to be in the optimum position?

this will surely alter the loading on the frame and and change overall balance.
would be interesting to hear EBs opinion!

MY ERROR!
looking at the photos the shock is offset.pushing in a straight line.

With the pulley strain and twin disc brakes on the side of the wheel designed to only have one bearing must be a problem, but what does a builder know.

But the pulley isn't fastened to the wheel, it is outside the swingarm so must be driving a stub axle , my guess is the disc is also fastened to the same stub axle and that that assembly rotates on bearings in the end of the swingarm . The wheel must have a direct fastening to that stub axle because if the wheel had it's own bearings you wouldn't be getting any drive from the pulley.

I dont suffer fools and haven't done so for the last 19 years that my business has thrived.
Those 2 potential customers are really missing out, their loss, I couldn't care less lOl
In future I would suggest you do give proper thought before posting here and making yourself look very silly.
Have a lovely Easter.
