I've been thinking of changing the black handlebars on my current 2000 X1 for some chrome ones, but before i do.

Can anyone confirm if the chrome bars fitted to my old 2002 X1 look to be standard X1 bars, or do they look like M2 bars? ( I'm thinking the previous owner told me they were M2 bars but my memory not so good

Thanks

That X1W looks to have M2 bars. The X1 bars had sharper bends with steeper angles. The M2 bars had gentler bends IIRC.

Be careful buying aftermarket bars. The Ultra Low Renthals I have sweep up and back more than I care for. Unnantural feeling and hard on my damaged shoulders ( I can't do elbows out much anymore)

I prefer a flatter bar. When I get around to it, I'll likely install one of their MX bars and just remove the crossbar and clamps from it. Likely will be either the Suzuki RM125/250 or the Enduro Medium. They're both wider by 72 to 54 mm, but have less upward and rearward sweep. I'll just have to make sure there's enough room for the grips and controls before I purchase. But I'll need to look at other manufacturer's first to see if there's something else a little flatter for my tastes.

I’ve got XB bars on the X1 and Renthals as per Nutah on the S1. I like both but then again I’ve never broken any bones...

With standard bars the horn button is only just clear of the tank cover when on full lock ;) those look higher.

Found these dimensions listed elsewhere for the M2, although couldn't find anything listed for the X1.

Buell M2 Cyclone 2001 - 2003

Bar dia. 7/8"
Height 4"
Width 28"
Pull back 6.5"
Centre 5"
Clamp Area 3.5" x 4.75"

So will compare those measurements against the bars fitted to my current X1.

Thanks for your comments.
