..or not as the case may be
so i had booked an MOT test for my Buell ,now i had done all the usual checks
ran up great no issues , so i got about 100yds & it cut out , starter spins but nothing doing..
so rude words said , MOT canceled , pushed home in disgrace..
i assumed (wrongly as it turns out) that it was the alarm/imobiliser
turns out the fuel pump had crapped out, after eating the in tank fuel filter.
Thanks to Maz & Pash , for help, wisdom & emotional support
all now fixed & running :yup:

..well except somehow the rev counter , has left the building :sad1:
still gives me something to tinker with

On the news today they was talking of scraping the MOT as very few accidents are the result of mechanical failure , other countries have done similar without any rise in accident rates , some do a 3 or 5 year MOT others just do MOT when you sell it

It would really need to be "buyer beware" on second hand stuff, could you imagine some of the bodges that some folk would use to sell a nail.

any old road up..
i checked continuity , between the ecm & the rev counter
i have + voltage at the pink cable ,i have an earth on the black cable
so it would seem the rev counter is kaput
i have removed the front bezel & the glass , the electronics inside seems visually OK
no dry joins or hot spots, so i will see if i can find somewhere to check/test or repair it
still it's not like i need one for the MOT :hehe:
