Hi all,

My first post here. I'm toying with the idea of buying a Firebolt. Ideally I'd like a 12r but the xb9 below, which is near me caught my eye. Anything I should be looking out for. Were there any recalls?

Seems a bit expensive, possibly? Although there aren't many around. Also I'd imagine that at 16 years and 11k miles it'd be due a proper service by someone who knows these bikes.

I last rode in 2014. Did a handful of trackdays and loved it. I realise that performance wise it won't hold a candle to my gsxr 750 but that's probably a good thing given how easy silly speed is on that thing.

Cheers

Welcome :D

There will be someone along soon who will give your more info I’m sure.

Maz in Manchester is the man for a full 10k service. He’s acknowledged as the Yoda of Buell’s and works exclusively on them. I’d factor in £1000 for it plus there’s a few other ‘need’ to do things too depending on what has already been done.

There may even be someone on here who knows the history of it.

Good luck :yup:

Looks like prices have risen since I last looked seriously at the going rate for XB9Rs.

I am planning to put mine up for sale any time now which is almost a dead ringer for the spec of that one and will save you £1000 lOl It's not as pretty as that one because a previous owner has given it a naff carbon fibre wrap, the wheels need a good polish, it has a small dent in the down pipe and some general corrosion.

On the plus side it was MOT'd last week, has had a full 10k service to Buell spec (but not to Maz spec lOl ) and I'm based just outside Milton Keynes.

I'm not technical but I have been around Buells and UKBEG for a long time :old:

Steve

Sounds interesting Steve. Drop me a pm when it's for sale.
