Hi, With the impending ULEZ coming into London in a months time (and will spread to other cities in the future).
If I can prove my bike produces the same emissions as one built in 2007 then I should be compliant.
TFL (as usual) have just decided on a cut off date (2006) and not the actual emissions of a vehicle. Some owners of other pre 2007 bikes are now being allowed in as they have proved their bikes produce the same amount of NOx as a later bike.
If we can prove that earlier bikes are no more polluting than one built in 2006/7 then we can save a lot of bikes.
We all know that bikes produce less pollution (per mile) than cars as we cut through traffic and don’t sit there idling. On the TFL website they state that motorcycles produce around 1% of pollution, but TFL are running at a big loss and seem to be trying to generate funds.
TFL’s easy answer is a 2004 Buell was not built to Euro 3 so it is not compliant. That doesn’t mean that a 2004 Buell does not produce the same amount of NOx !!
My question: Does anyone know if there are any differences between a 2004 and a 2007 or later xb9r that would produce different emissions?
This also applies to all Buells registered before 2007.
Thanks

Thanks for the link. I’ve had this problem with my van in 2011 and the ‘Low Emissin Zone’. Then when I proved my van produced same emissions as the next years model, they agreed and said mine was compliant.
