Hi Folks, Ok, so I visited Maz to get some help with my forks after backing myself into a corner with my own progress as there was a Special tool needed. Maz was as gruff as he sounds on the site "at First" (I was ready for an onslaught of abuse for getting myself stuck & having to call on his help last minute) but Maz was a Total Gent & got the kettle on & I was told to feel free to look round. I was surprised by the Emporium. The work area was very tidy, everything in it's place, two banks of Snap on Tool Chests, (always a great sign of a serious mechanical engineer) and when I say Chests I mean Wardrobe sized laid sideways with any tool you may need to fix a Buell "Or any bike". Maz showed me round the drawers, this is not a tool chest you go and buy out off a Snap on Van complete, this collection had been built over years & I mean years. He also had a drawer of the special tools he had fabricated, my ears pricked up then but no he doesn't make them for other people, Damn! There were also two Hydraulic bike Ramps with loads of working space round them & while I was there someone turned up with I think it was an S1? Maz got it on a bench lifted into the air & walked round it a couple of times with a torch. I would definitely rent Maz for a Day if I was buying a bike, he see's things with his experienced eyes that I don't even know exist on Buells. Anyway, we chatted as Maz diligently got on with putting my tyre on, showing me my front wheel bearings were bolloxed despite only being changed last year, so fitted another set for me. It's always great when someone is confident enough to work & talk & smoke whilst stripping stuff down, Inspecting everything as he went along, it was indeed a pleasure to watch an expert at work. I could speak about the Emporium set up for weeks. It was Fantastic. Going slightly off subject Maz has a Black Museum, I was intrigued to see many failed parts had been sectioned to show why & how failures had occurred. I was also blown away by a sectioned engine that Maz had done whilst bored. Anyway as I said I could wax lyrical for pages, I haven't even started on the equipment he has at his disposal, but I think what's more important to tell you is that now I'm getting a bit stiff & strained & keep pulling muscles & shit whilst working on my Buell. I have found someone in Maz who I would completely & utterly trust to do any work on my Buell for me, next time anything needs doing, I'm off for a ride to see Maz. I'll ride over when I get a day free ver soon Maz & give you the £15 I still owe you for a great job on my forks. I was out last night but got them back in this Am, & ready to bounce up & down on them before tightening the pinch bolts, you see Maz I do listen. Nice one Maz, great to meet you, you're a gent. Paul.
