I get more than that on my 1125r & I don't usually hold back either, perhaps carries more fuel?

Going to get it painted by Sarah at Saragon Custom Paint in Darlington. Went to drop off the parts for Powder coating at Impreziv Finishing who powder coated all my trike black and silver parts (about 60) for a very reasonable £350 a few years back and he suggested going to see Sarah close by. What an amazing talent she has for air brush and all spray work. She only paints bike parts and the quality of her work on display is truly amazing. She understands the problems of plastic tanks from the motocross stuff she does and told me the way she would tackle my tank, at a cost of £200 for the tank and £150 for the bellypan she will turn it around in a week, she has booked it in for August so her services are clearly in demand. She is so well informed on types of paint and laquer, she showed me two samples of laquer, one a disc about 2" diameter and 6-7mm thick, it was 2 years old and still could be bent double, another same diameter and 50mm thick, 10 years old and almost as squashy as a stress ball but with a tough outer skin. She said that this would expand and contract with the tank. She offered to paint the Buell logo onto the tank because she reckons that the applied stickers stop the ethenol and paint sovlents escaping and cause bubbling. Apparently the two pack paints let the solvents escape for a long time but still maintain a hard surface to allow rubbing down and buffing. She also says there is no inner tank sealer that is ethenol proof......yet, they are still working on it and there will be some time in the future. Enough of his diatribe, have a look at the links below
