Thanks guys , I'll be up and running soon , but not riding a bike for a while until fracture in wrist and elbow sorted, it makes certain actions difficult ;)

Well they have written her off Cat N , and offered a value of £2304! Obviously contesting this valuation as I can receive a cheque for 60% of this and keep the bike.

How much do we think its worth? 2001 model all original in white and nuclear blue apart from mirrors , indicators and forcewinder. , needed a good clean and polish , and had 21k on the clock. It hadnt got up to :maz: just yet......

Thanks in advance and any offers please PM me.

Sorry to hear of your incident, and hope you are on the mend.

Putting the emotive aspect of the machine to one side for a moment, my understanding of what you have said is that you can keep the bike and they will give you roughly £1400.00 (60%).

1)Is the machine in your possession or at a yard somewhere? Just be aware that if it is not with you, cock up’s can occur, and the bike could disappear to a breaker before final settlement, I have seen it happen with cars.

2)Get an estimate for you to repair and then evaluate. In the meantime, play hardball on the settlement offered.
The Buell I have ridden for the last 20 odd years was a Harley demonstrator that I bought from a breakers yard and rebuilt, so it can be done, and if you are still passionate about the marque go for it.

:yt:

Hi There,

Sometimes you can make a case by providing photos of your particular model for sale on EBay etc. That are listed for higher valuations than they are offering for yours to justify a better offer. I've done that before but it was with a low mileage car, it worked though.

This is how it has been done for a while now. There is no 'honour'; they make a 'cheeky' offer that some (the ignorant, the ill advised, the downright desperate....) accept.
If you disagree and have the knowledge, the time and tbh the energy to challenge them, then you have to prove its replacement cost by providing proof of other similar items being sold at the price you claim. Not always easy with a rare beast that doesn't come up for sale in numbers. Scour MCN, Autotrader, as well as theBay and Scumtree etc.
Good luck, and stand your ground.
