I have an 06 Uly with only one (manky) key and I’d like to get a new one cut for daily use.
Timpsons just shrugged and said they couldn’t match it, are they just being crap? Has anyone had a copy made recently?

James

My local Timpson did me two keys, for my 1125r both work fine under £20 the pair & they look kind of Buell ish with blue end I would vouch for the keys but still, I did take my bike to outside the kiosk so i could try them first before I bought them. Both still working fine 10 months later couple of quid short of twenty for the pair. Well safisfied with them.
Others may have had different experiences but mine was a trip to Tesco for some shopping (Handy That) as well.
All the best.

Timpsons also made me a spare for the XB.Had to order the blank about 3 days cost £9. I think it depends on the person in the shop, some dont want work.

Thanks everyone. Not completely impossible then. I’ll find a proper locksmith and leave Timpsons to shoelaces and Yale keys....

Unless you prefer a proper (standard issue) Buell key, there isn't much to say. (see pic) Timpons had these in when I called, the guy cut two while I was there. Both work fine which allows me to use them instead of the original key.
All you'll do at a locksmith is probably pay more for the same thing unless you source an original Buell blank & then you'll have to get it cut, most people will charge you the same as if you had bought the key from them any way.
Good luck.

Timpsons cut a blank which I supplied for a Triumph. Said they couldn’t guarantee it because they hadn’t supplied the blank so didn’t charge me 😀
