Does anyone know where there is an industry listing that I can refer them to?

There's no such thing, CB. The industry used to use the 17-group Norwich Union rating as a standard but everyone and their dog became an expert in database management and risk management and the companies now all run their own schemes. Apparently, some have up to 65 groups!

Most places which quote such things, such as MCN, will work to the NU's new system, which has 20 groups (and the link I just posted shows that the standard SM is group 11, so the nobbers version, a.k.a. SMR, will be higher)

I'm not going to link to :tosser: MCN's report on the Buell 12S because their inability to spell Erik (where did that smiley go? ) will have :maz: getting all :old:

stick around cloudy and let us know how you get on.

I prefer the bigger engined KTM's - I don't understand what everyone sees in them. Mate has CCM which he considers much better - certainly more unusual.

Okay, will do. I really liked the 990SMR, but as I'm not tall, I only felt comfortable with the lighter 690SMR. Like its slightly more radical styling too.

And always wanted a big single cylinder thumper. Although admittedly the original object of my affections was a 1982 Yamaha XT500, the one with the silver and black tank and the gold spoked wheels. Mmmm.

You have to stick around, eventually this could be a Buell forum with no Buell owners

As they all told me, it's for Buell enthusiasts, no necessarily owners and anyway, why waste the banter you've had going on here? Enjoy the friends you've made, don't walk away just cos you have a new ride xx

Apologies, as far as Buell numbers in NI go, I was only a temporary swelling :-/

Thanks Roz, will stick around. Feel a bit more at home on the Buell forum than the KTM one. Hope that doesn't extend to the bike too. Had to laugh at your new signature.

We can have a signature appreciation society - yours is pretty good too. Glad you're staying. I know what you mean about other forums, this place is eclectic, but a great mix without the :tosser: 's you get in other places. xxx

Hi all,

Sold my XB12Scg and bought a KTM 690 SMR.
Many thanks for all the laughs I got from this forum.
Thought I'd cast a poll so I can decide what to do about the forum.

Wishing you all a safe riding future,
CB

I salute your 'rugged individualism', and rare (for here anyway) common sense for selling before it got too expensive, but you sold a what? Tell me now it wasn't an '07scg', arguably the finest of the breed?

Thanks for that edd. You can breathe a sigh of relief. It was an '08.
