Anyone using these?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

rather than the Q1064.1AM @ 18 notes plus VAT?

Maybe they are not that expensive when the service schedule says to replace every 12400 miles.

according to bad weather bikers Aprillia part number ap0956745 should be a direct replacement, I intend to see how much they are at the weekend especially as I intend to change the oil much more regularly than the service interval.

Somebody needs to check this out then, as the Aprillia ones are a lot cheaper

here

I think that I will order one in the next month or so, my bike will need an oil change soon. May also have to order an official Buell one to compare it - or try to borrow one !

Plus VAT there I think... Then the same as the EBay price...

That sounds like too long an interval to me. Check the Aprilia forums and see what they recommend. Oil is much cheaper than engines.

Oil changes are every 6200 miles, the filter lasts two changes...

Old habits die hard - I still change the oil more often than recommended - every 2,000 miles ( or so ) - still less often than my old Harley and XBs - that was done every 1,500 - and I tend to change the oil filters too ...

I've done a bit of a cross-reference on the aprilia part number and something is not right.
I have a listing of 564 for the Buell 1125 which is right, but the aprilia part number cross reference is 152.
If you are going to use it be very careful, my advice would be don't unless you know it works.

I'm sure you fellas have done your research but is the filter medium in these identical to the Rotax ones ie do they have the same Micron sized holes in the paper?
I tend to get a bit twitchy about aftermarket filters - although it's a high possibility they also supply Rotax.

the oil filter in question on ebay shows rotax printed on the casing and all the other parts for sale seem to be genuine aprillia

I have got some Buell sourced Rotax oil filters and I will buy an Aprillia Rotax filter at the weekend and for visual comparison, assuming the Aprillia filter comes in a Rotax box or has Rotax stamped on the casing the only issue then is the hole pitch and size for the overall pressure loss through the filter.

Will have to see if I can get hold of more data on the RSV oil system.

I will post what I can come up with next week, I always change engine oil and filters about every 1000 miles, have done since the seventies and will continue to do so.
