has anybody ever used anywhere like VENHILL to get new clutch/throttle cables made up for a tuber? - Buells are not listed and I'm just wondering. I NEED higher bars if I'm hanging onto the S3T so will need longer cables and hoses.

Prices CERTAINLY make a mockery of OEM prices.

I had a set once on a Guzzi - and the FEATHERLIGHTS were!.

Maz?

When I was dicking about with RD350s and 38mm Mikuni PJs, I used to buy bits from Venhill and make my own. You just need cable inner, cable outer, nipples (mmm...), ferrules, a big soldering iron (or a blow torch), some solder, pliers and a file...

A bench grinder is nice to tidy the ends of the outers up...

XB cables fit the tubers and are much better as they have a teflon liner.....35 quid incl. vat.

:? Remind me - do we or do we not - lubricate teflon linered cables :?:
If so - what do we do it with and what's to be avoided :?:

In theory no, it attracts dirt if you use a sticky lube and the propellant for the lube is a solvent, that can make the liner swell and become tight on the cable. However, I've made and used teflon linered cables for years and frequently lubed them with no adverse effects - I do use a proper cable lube though, I don't know if that makes a difference?

These people make a vast range of cables for the classic boys, They wont have what you need on the shelf but if you send them a hand drawn diagram with measurements or a cable as a patt they provide a quote and post the cable to you.
Ive used them in the past for obsolete truck cables & they have been ok. Reasonable price to.You may have to wait a couple of weeks coz theyre always busy ,

They made the speedo cable for me M2, £8. Apparently they also made a speedo cable for a combine harvester, 20foot long
