I maintain that knowing your fuel consumption is important, not for economical reasons though.

My XBS so far done worst 28mpg best 52.5mpg and average 36mpg.

A far cry but my car does around 9.4 mpg in town and on my recant trip to the Vaterland I managed on a strip of about 400 miles an average speed of 125mph and 21mpg so speed is not important its the stop and go or brake and accelerate.

I'll bet my trumpet beat all the Buells on the Jog challenge for fuel consumption. I only filled up twice for the entire journey

I'm not a pipe-and-slippers type, but I certainly noticed that my Uly drunk a lot less petrol than my GS did.

And looked better...

And had fewer problems...

And sounded better...

And was just way frick'n cooler...
