Hello all,can anyone give a straight answer (eg yes or no) to the question, will braided steel brake hose carry hot engine oil without melting? I assume that because that as the inner is teflon/ptfe it will be ok. Have asked all over but I don't seem to get a definite answer, the reason that I ask is that I am building a top end oiling system for one of my other bikes.

Thanks in advance Pailo.

I could give you the answer but I suggest that for liability reasons you should get a recommendation from your supplier. ThinkAutomotive can supply everything you need and more.

No, you may not. But if you spill a quart of engine oil all over the bikes rear tyre from a burst hose and kill yourself, your family may not be quite so understanding. Please ask someone like ThinkAutomotive, I have bought a fair bit off them over the years, they do not bite, they are helpful. Alternatively, look up the data on a manufacturers website- Earles, Goodrich etc...
