While fitting new pads my retention clip broke and is making a scraping noise.
As its a standard Nissin caliper can I get a replacement from an EBC supplier,
I think :? the local bike shop gets deliveries from one.
If not anyone got any ideas?

Are you on about the clip that hold the small pad in the piston?
If you are, I think you'll need a new set.
I had one come off but luckily they were due changing anyway

A lot of the components on my VTR are the same as on the Buell caliper, and they're the same as on some types of Blade. You might be able to cross match.

You is on about the Brembo (which I think rocks harder than the Nissin) I think...

Twas shite with organic pads, but now, with Goldfren tis well good. Ferodo make sintered pads for them too...

Whats that all about then?

Have you got the part number (and a nice exploded diagram) for the slotted cover that covers the pin that holds the pads in the Nissin front caliper for my S1? Mine got a bit chewed last weekend when taking the pads out to remove the wheel to fit the X1 forks.

44320-98Y, but looks like it is NLA.

I am not sure if Adam is referring to front or rear, but worth looking into, apart from that, how about MV Agusta?

How did you chew it up?

It was stuck solid. Got it out but had to tap at it with knock through flathead on the side so the slot is not regular any more. Still works but looks crap.

Will try for the VTR ones. Would have thought that they were universal to Nissin calipers will find out.
