Can anyone tell me if the 61 tooth rear puilley for an X1 is the same as a sportster? I have seen a 61 tooth for sale with the part no: 40213-91 is this the correct one for my 2000 X1 to lower the gearing please :sun:

You might find the hole in the centre is smaller , I had a local guy turn it out to suit a buell ;)

the one I altered has 40246-91 on the back and had a 50mm hole which was widened to fit it also fits the 1-1/8" belt. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help, I did take the time to phone a dealer who gave me the original part number which for anyone else interested is: 34927-94Y but now superseeded by: G0400.8A and the price is a whopping £162.22 including VAT  so I think I will be contacting a friend in the good old USA for a quote and if he can't do much better I will go down the same road as you

I fitted one to my X1 when I had it, the centre hole was too small but only slighty, an hour with some files and a careful eye the old skills came back and ended up with a good sound fit. Good luck, it does really liven up the bike though be aware the speedo may now be out slightly.

Caution - zombie thread resurrection :!:

Mine also has the 34927-94Y pulley fitted. (130 quid in 2002) The speedo isn't out slightly, it's way out lOl Is there any way of getting the speedo to work correctly :?:

But yours has the speedo pick up from the front wheel so any change in gearing will make no difference.

I reckon someone has fitted the wrong speedo drive. You need a 67127-84A to fit 91-94 FXD / 84-95 FXR / 84-94 XL...

EDIT - I see you have bought an X1. You need a speedo healer or the cleanest solution is US speedo (I’ve got a few that I will part with but may not match your current odometer)
