 Post subject: new drive belt noise

Current ride: buell 1125cr
Hi all I fitted new drive belt. Its making a noise when I slow down. I check it there no rubbing the alignment is good everything torque right. just wondering if it the belt because its new and needs running in a bit. any thought would help.

Mine didn't make any noise after being changed but I think I read that someone on here KIWI? changed his & it whined for 3 months. Did you change the bearings as well?

I experienced a whine as well around the time l had a new belt, but it turned out to be a 180/55 Dunlop Qualifier tyre that was wider than spec suggested. The edge of the hero strip was rubbing on the inside of the belt guard! :shock:


I used a rotary abrasive disc to de-burr the tyre. ;)

What kind of noise Westy?

I had a kind of humming till it wore in a bit...can still hear it a little when coasting up with clutch in.

Hi all been out riding it the whining/ humming noise is going still little when stopping or slowing down thank Kiwi it sound very similar to yours. haven't change the bearing and tire are ok. going to check it again this week. thanks for the help
