Current ride: Buell X1 2001
Just had the belt changed, went to start the bike up , and it sounds live its misfiring on one cylinder, anyone got any ideas?

Yes it was propped on a block of wood while belt was being fitted and its not under cover and we have had a lot of rain and it has a forcewinder.....

Could it be water slipping through the fuel cap?

no it fired up the day before no problem, but the front plug was wet when I pulled it out, might be just a bad plug

I’m cheaper than Adam, I would hold the plug by the terminal using a pair of pliers and heat the electrodes over a gas flame to thoroughly dry them and the insulator nose out. Plugs are designed to reach a temperature where the insulator self cleans.

Thanks mate, can you recommend a decent set of spark plugs, as I am not sure the 10r12s HD sell are as good as other sparks I have used in the past. I used to use Splitfires on an old twin and they were good as gold.....

I'll clean them up......wire brush as well? they had a bit of deposit on them but dry deposit (front one was slightly wet....)

They self clean when up to temperature, using a wire brush will damage the insulation finish and shorten the life of them...
