Sorry no idea Adam, I've had loads of Lambretta and Vespa Scooter's from the early 80s until now , and the prices for Lammys has shot through the roof, starting at a couple of grand for a basket case to over 10,000 for restored Scooter's.
As for what you are thinking of doing I would have no idea sorry.
I suppose you would have to do some homework on the subject.

If you want one then get one but I'd suggest if you ride the bike more you'll find you dont need one as you'll know what gear you are in.

Knowing the gear isnt that important (except that you're in first to pull away)...after that its just whatever feels right....start chugging then drop a gear, rpm getting high go up a gear......you'll know also that a certain RPM at a certain speed means you're in top already, so no more trying to go into a higher gear.

I bought one and never installed it !

Eric.

Just maintain revs at a minimum of 3.5, if it drops below this change down. When approaching a junction just click down, down, down, until you can go no further then up one to get in neutral...simples ;)

I generally ride between 1000 and 3500... All styles get results...

I love the prosaic way the Hurley-Pugh Riders Notebook talks about the manner in which the engine 'answers' to the throttle lOl

I kinda like seeing what gear I'm in - I probably find it interesting rather than useful.

I’m more of a 2,000 to 4,000, in town drop down to 1250 to 1750 , once on the open road short shift 2500 to 3500 best smoothest power/ torque for my set up , I still keep looking for an extra gear ( just to lower rpm) whilst in top at 80mph ish
