Ah, back on topic.
Thank you Gunter. :yup:

Hello Peeps,
It´s been a while. Busy times here with it being refit time of year in the super yacht industry!
Anyhow, after some kindly help from Pash :worthy: with ecm spy and a cable, I managed to clear the fault codes, and run a test. Everything tested OK and the faults never came back again after cranking.

But the Old War Horse still refused to play....

Then I read a post over on the dark side, and some blokes bike had similar symptom's to War Horse.
I decided to stick a pressure gauge on the fuel line.
Turn on ignition, flip kill switch to run, whirr... Nada! Nothing, Zilch!

So I drained the tank, and while it was draining, I flicked the ignition on again. Whirr... it didn´t come out any faster.
Took the fuel pump out of the tank, and look what I found...

The filter was like an old tea bag, and just fell apart in my fingers.

A new fuel pump, and while I had it in bits, a new fuel pressure regulator from Duane at Fuel Performance for less than a 100 quid, and the bike fired up last night, second prod of the button, and went straight into a smooth and steady idle. :D

Thanks all, for the help and suggestions. :yup:

I assume so.
It definitely sounds nicer than it did before, nice and crisp throttle response. :yup:
I also noticed the old pressure regulator O-rings where quite hard.
I´m also relieved it was nothing to do with anything I did to the bike!

Just a bit of wiring to sort under the new short tail, and I´ll be out taking pictures for next years calendar ;)

Except I´ve recently moved house, and I can´t find my log book! That could cause a few problems with the Guardia Civil.

If I ride the bike back to U.K. for an MOT, will I need to put the old exhaust back on, or will it go through with the Albert?

Will this scenery with the bike in it be OK for the calendar shots do you think?

I´ve found myself looking at GT750 kettles recently. Fancy one with expansion chambers ;)
I ruled out the KH750 triple (widow maker) Have you seen the prices they are commanding?! :ill:

Jumped on a friends restored kettle a couple of years back. It was horrible, didn't go round corners, didn't stop. The only thrills experienced was the fear of not knowing on every bend whether you'll make it, or manage to stop as quickly as the car in front of you. I know taste is very personal but you can't even call them good looking. Some things should remain as fond (one day perhaps) wishes.

If you must, ride before you buy, then at least you go in with your eyes open

My eyes are open, albeit through those rosy specs :)
70´s and 80´s bikes need to be ridden like a 70´s or 80´s bike.
I´m dreaming really, as I´d never pay what you would have to for a decent one.
It would have to be a basket case, and I also have too many project's already, but I have an itch for a big two stroke. I doubt it will be scratched though.
If I still had the bikes I owned through the 70´s and 80´s I´d be worth a few bob!

Anyway, I have the Buell, and you can only ride one at a time, right? :)
