Hi,anyone know a firm that does a rear paddock stand for 1125r? Harris used to but don't now.Its for 2008 model which doesn't have bobbins like later models.Also see trojan do screw on bobbins but you have to drill swinging arm Has anyone gone down this route? Like others opinion on this particularly I'm useless at DIY so am reluctant to do it as might knacker swing arm

I have an 09 1125r and randomly bought an 'oxford' rear paddock stand from my local Hein Gericke......they said it wouldnt fit ............but it does, ideally you buy the optional metal finger ends and with light use of mole grips bend the 'fingers' out to mimic the shape of the swing arm and it is perfect, stable and the right width

My Micron fits very well. Bobbins aren't really needed.

I've got a Micron as well - had to bend it a little to make it fit, but it's fine now.

Same with me. Not a Micron but did the same on the Uly and think the R is much the same swing arm IE tapered so adjust the cups to fit. Works fine. Also see if the under part of the arm has a high point, at which the cup should be in front of, for location of the cup. Take care not to scratch the paint.

Do NOT drill any holes in the swing arm for any reason. Only use bobbins if the swing arm has pre threaded mounts for them.

Why shouldn't he drill the swingarm?
What's the difference as the 2010 models came with holes already drilled?

....not strictly speaking ie. the arm has tapped cast lugs for the bobbins, although I see no reason not to drill a swingarm in order to fit bobbins.

Yes you could, in the right way, if you knew what you were doing but I am not going to say that they should.

FFS just look at what has been going on here for a while. Like miss matched tyres, oil filter changes and other basic stuff. Drilling holes in stressed parts of a bike like frames and swing arms, if you dont know what your doing, is nothing short of asking for a problem. But carry on its ok with me it aint MY bike.

In fact, with an X1 swinging arm, drilling a drain hole is highly recommended.
