I've a Buell Lightning 54 plate, a few minor mods but all in the best of taste, in my opinion.

Not used it this year not sure if it is do do with CoVid and a recent family berevement or not and the days are getting shorter.

Not sure what the market is like at the moment for these, think the milage is around 14kish.

Any thoughts on what I should do, know its a strange question but i trust the people on here :ffs:

Andy

No don't need the money and have a container to store it in, not sure it it would be better with someone who would use it?

The problem being if you sell it ,plus prices always go up (after you sell)
so when you get sellers remorse , it will cost you more to replace & that's asuming you can find one.

Keep it. Put it away for winter with fresh oil in it. There will always be another summer next year.

Aye, keep it, nothing to lose by waiting another year or two.

Why sell a Buell that works? You’ll only regret it later! ;)

I’ve hardly ridden mine all year, but for the few miles l did it was fantastic! 8-)

Sell it. I’ve had the same dilemma.

In that case, it's absolutely better to store it well and it's still there for you to ride or sell later. The majority of sellers wish they hadn't sold. It seems sensible to err on the side of keeping it since you appear well placed to keep it. Much as I do not like the fuel framed bikes myself, there does seem a small but steady demand for them. Over at the other place, there's regularly people asking if one is for sale so it isn't going to depreciate.

I think that's a wise decision. If in a few years time you decide to sell it is unlikely to sell for less than today. And you always have the option to simply keep it.

If only I'd kept every Buell I've owned since 1990... there are many I wish I still had, mainly the RSS1200, my 1st 5 speed Buell. And probably less powerful and slower than my 1st bike, the Honda VF500F. Certainly heavier. But it was the 1st bike I started moto touring on so it was the beginning of nearly 700,000 miles of 2 wheeled memories.

Ah, VF500F now there”s a bike, l rode once. I normally detest little fours but that V4 seemed to transcend the sum of its parts. ;)
