I am on Pistonheads and it's the same there; people coming across from Fakebook seeking properly informed advice, ruing the day they listened to the 'chatterati'. The grouping of threads and ability to search the archives is noted there too. The same old bleat from the 'foot-in-both-camps' types that Fakebook is easier to log on to...
They also have evidence that advertising meets on Fakebook attracts 'undesirables'... numerous tales of 'letsavalook' chavs damaging cars (eg brushing against them/ smoking over them/leaning in with bags/zips dangling), albeit inadvertantly, but perceived to be through a lack of respect/intelligence. Some owners have stated they will no longer take their prides and joys along because of it.
As a result, the South Coast region now only mentions meets on the pukka Pistonheads site, never Fakebook.
So it's not just us.

Pash, as you well know, UKBEG is a very special little oasis of sanity to a lot of us at times, and when you think of all friendships ( and more ) that have come about because of it, we are all very grateful for the effort you put in. I can't imagine what a burden it must be sometimes, but it does make the World a slightly better place
