Aaaah, cheers for the reply Andy!

It was on the list of things to do but I didn't think it was worth it as I'd only been passed 3 weeks. And before you say it, there were about 100 witnesses to the accident and I was riding perfectly, it's funny how an oap can't see a bike riding in the command position in broad daylight doing 30mph....

Should have to re take tests when they do something like that

For someone who has only "been passed" 3 weeks you certainly have an inflated sense of your own riding proficiency, together with a disrespectful attitude towards fellow enthusiast bikers. If you had bothered to look , before posting, the general consensus on this forum to private number plates, is akin to leaning on an open door.

Assuming that the command position you were adopting refers to this "We need space and time to see what’s going on around us and ahead of us – ‘seeing’ with both the eyes and the brain, and using that time and space to think, plan and act, so as to avoid running into things – or running off the roadway, needlessly, with equally painful results". then you failed.

Maybe you read the the book I am more familiar with

I have been riding motorised bicycles for 44 years, adopt the head down arse up "position", ride considerably faster than 30 mph and I am an O.A.P.

I have deja vu. Same thing happened to me 30 years ago, and I blamed the OAP. After 30 years of continued riding I've concluded it wasn't his fault. I wasn't riding perfectly, I wasn't anticipating the OAP doing something stupid. You really have to assume everyone is doing their utmost to kill you.

What colour is the plate?

Do a quick bit of research; doesn't the vehicle have to be MOT'd to transfer a reg?

Hi Jedward, to answer your question I doubt if the plate has much value at all. I am by no means an expert, but I have some experience.
Firstly not many people have the initials AXB in their names, and in order for it to read XB9 the plate would need to be illegally spaced and the law pretty much make that impossible these days. Also the numbers of XB9's in the UK, or any other Buells for that matter, are very limited.
In short, your potential market is extremely small. You could register on one of those sites that "buy and sell" number plates. They will probably tell you its worth £300 and offer to sell it for you. However they will not buy it from you, but will list it with the rest of their low value plates. And if they do sell it for you they will charge you a commission. Personally I think you will be fortunate to got £100 for it.
I also had a an accident when I was young, when an old lady pulled out in front of me. The thing is I new she was going to do it, but I had just cranked my moped up to 50, and I wasn't prepared to sacrifice all that speed on the chance that she might not pull out.
I'm sorry you are having difficulties, and hope you get back on your feet soon.

Excellent if somewhat flawed plan, I hope you told neither your dad nor insurance company that :run: .
Getting back to the sale of number plate thread; no lets not. It's much more fun when they go off on a tangent.
Andy Murray was late for Wimbledon today as he stopped to help a stray dog in the road; cool :yup:

I know a good poem about dogs sniffing arses.......

The dogs once held a meeting,
They came from near and far.
Oh, some they came by aeroplane
And some by motor car.
Before into the concert hall
They were allowed to look,
Each dog had to take his arsehole off
And hang it on a hook.

Oh, hardly were they seated there,
Each mother, son and sire,
When a dirty little yellow dog
Began to holler 'Fire!'
Out they rushed in panic,
They didn't stop to look;
Each dog just grabbed an arsehole
From off the nearest hook.

And that's the reason why you see,
On walking down the street,
Each dog will stop and swap a smell
With every dog he meets.
And that's the reason why a dog
Will leave a good fat bone
To go and smell an arsehole
In hopes to find his own.

Considering this is a for sale forum, thinking we'd be talking price etc.... What's with all the advice about riding?

Don't mean to cause any offence but if I WERE seeking advice on how to improve my riding, either via an advanced course or better still sticking to driving on 4 wheels, do you not think that I would have started the topic elsewhere????

Again, don't mean to cause offence, but have you not got anything better to do than kick a man who's down, and also down to his last pennies in the bank trying to raise a bit of money doing the only thing that's available at the minute.

Fucking mardarse, I'll give you some advice on making money, first rule would be to not alienate yourself from your biggest market.

Thing is you have 7 posts on here, so you couldn't give a fuck about this forum or the people on it, sorry to disappoint you but you plate is worth next to fuckall.
Gobshite.

Those bunch of twats you refer to are some of the nicest and informative people I know especially about Buells.

Perhaps an apology is in order.

....... not that I want a personal plate ...or anything that has XB on it come to that,....and it turned out his sense of humour is a tad underdeveloped to say the least…….. but he did post a for sale ad in the for sale section and he sort of has a point……
