Don't forget the VAT.........I believe you have the right to bring your personal vehicle home without paying the dreaded but I think you also have to keep it for a certain amount of time before selling it or HMRC will want their cut. Also check if you have to come home with it to be eligible for the tax break.

You don't have to pay duty or VAT on the vehicle provided you meet all these conditions:

1 you are moving home to the UK
2 you have lived outside the EU for a continuous period of at least 12 months
3 you have possessed and used the vehicle for at least six months outside the EU
4 you didn't get the vehicle under a duty/tax-free scheme
5 you're going to keep the vehicle for your personal use for at least 12 months after it's imported

But as Beef wants to sell it this may not apply as stated in 5.

I`m sure he has checked out all the facts and there maybe other conditions or concessions that are available to members of the Armed Forces.
