Post subject:  Thinking of selling 2009 XB9SX

hey guys, i own the all black XB9SX (not translucent) on a 09 plate, ive only covered 2200 dry mls. all i have added is a rizoma tailtidy and number plate rack.

the bike is absolutely mint with only the inevitable exhaust rust spots just starting to show but still hardly visible, the tyres still have the nobbles on as i have neglected to use this beast.

the reason i am thinking of selling is that the prices for these soon to be collectable beasts is rising as i have seen and been told by dealerships trying to bite my hand of for it.

just thought id post to the team first and see if you could give me any ideas of value or offer maybe.

spotted recent sale of 07 translucent model with 17k mls for £5200 and im certain mine is in better value and condition.

any advice much appreciated, Andy.

Based on that price I should stick it up for 7k... Don't accept anything less...

:hehe:

Andy £5200 for an 07 SX is amazing money. To be honest you would be VERY fortunate to get anything like that. Brand new 1125's were selling for that kind of money, let alone a second hand XB :) :oooops:

I guess its worth what anyone is prepared to pay for it. You will get better money from a German buyer.

Ash, that was an actual harley dealer and the XB was standard except for exhaust, remus i think. i would be happy with a decent offer not a ridiculous one and a caring new owner who would use the bike for what it was designed for.

But what brand new bikes sold for 2 years ago has no bearing on what a bike may fetch now ...remember a month before they were selling for over £8000 my X1 in 2001 was £7700
Prices will always be a case of supply and demand so prices are more likely to rise due to the rapidly reducing amount available now in the UK .
The more they sell for the better in my mind ;)

If you offered your bike to a dealership they would offer silly money sadly. You will get decent money for it selling private and as I said, sadly it might have to go abroad to fetch the kind of money you are wanting for it. The market for XB's in Germany is huge, someone there will bite your arm off for a bike in as nice a condition as yours

The picture on Facebook you posted probably doesn't even do it justice, It looks lovely and you are right, it looks like it came straight from the factory :)

Hey guys, i used the XB for the easter run on sunday, had absolutely hundreds of admirers of the black beuty. really dont wont to sell it but its so wasted with me. last offer i had was £5400. thinking i should advertise in autotrader or ebay starting at that price.

in honesty i wouldnt let it got for much less than 6k.

still open to offeres from the people who love and respect these beasts the most.

Andy.

P.S easter run had well over 16,000 riders participating and i only seen 1 other buell and that was an old boy being riden by an attractive lady bueller? R E S P E C T.

After all the internet searching here, america and europe i can honestly say "YES".

I fortunatly have a barely used example of the last of line with only 2200 miles, There are very few examples out there, you sometimes find an 03 with high mileage sitting at 3-4k, and sold within 1 week.

There are no other bikes out there made or engineered like these beasts and probably never will be again, which in turn is attracting some obvious attention.

Anything buell has become collectable, within certain markets and in turn has increased value based on supply and demand. and supply is low.

As most of them have now gone to Europe Buells are getting rare, that, and the premium prices johnny foreigner has been paying for them has pushed the price up - supply and demand ...
