Hi Ladies and Gents

My 1997 S1 Lightning (not 96 as I have mentioned in previous posts) is up for sale

Its covered 19213 miles
It has MOT until March 2014
It has a few months tax
Nearly new tyres
Hypercharger
New mirrors
New Aluminium stubby levers
Aluminium indicators
Twin tail seat unit and seat
HP Corse exhaust
Recent paint, very slight bubbling under tank decals but overall looks very nice

I'm looking for around £3950, it was always going to be a keeper but its not really a 2 up tool so is being sold to fund a Uly!!

It would be good to see it sell on here but will more than likely find its way on ebay in a weeks time if I don't have any interest (that is if I haven't been brainwashed into keeping it by all the die hards on here)

If it sells for the asking price I will donate £50 to the site as way of thanks.

Photo's to follow

Let the abuse commence

Cheers
Peter

was following your other thread with interest: im just a bit curious about what u dont like about the S1 2 up ?

ive got a Uly ( 2007 X lowered to XT height ) and an S3T which is not so very different to your S1 with its twin tail.

both the wife and i are constantly surprised how good the S3 is 2 up ( we weigh 170kg or so between us ), in fact she wont go on the uly because she says its too difficult to climb onto the back of with the box fitted ( but she is short and has bad knees ). annoying, because i had it lowered for her benefit !

Spose one of the main issues is the height, the S1 seat is pretty much level, the wife is used to split level seating as she spent 3 years on the back of my 954 fireblade! (Not continuously)
The other is pure comfort and space, there isn't much room once my fat arse is in place and we wouldn't even consider touring on it as we want to, the extra comfort, higher seating position so the wife can at least see over my shoulder, space, the back rest and luggage capability have pretty much sold it to me!

Mrs Dusty swears (a lot) that our S3T is much comfier two up than the Bandit GT I bought to go two up touring

P.S
Nice to see another bike with a hypercharger. Most people on this site take the piss out of them............but each to their own.

Took the S1 out for a 130 mile ride out today and had almost convinced myself that I couldn't let it go, loved it! Picked up the Missus for the last 30 miles just to see if I could change her mind but alas 30 miles later she was wriggling around and complaining of a numb arse.
There is no turning back now, if I could afford 2 there is no way it would be going but I can't so Uly it is!

Get a pad put in the back of the seat or cheaper option on top of it :)

Cheers bud, but it's not just a comfort issue, the wife is 5'1" and I am nearly 5'9", she is so low that she can't even see over my shoulder which can't be any fun, need to get a taller wife with a padded arse or a new bike, she is keener on me getting the new bike!
