My 1998 Buell S1 White Lightning aka the holy grail

Genuine UK bike, 16081 miles.

It's a shame but due to numerous reasons, the most pressing of which is being skint, this bike is up for sale through UKBEG.
I just haven't got the time to ride and look after this bike as it deserves, I have only done 1000 miles in 3 and a half years on it, and it now requires TLC, and riding

Many modifications and extras, a well sorted bike that needs tidying and then spanking along the twisties leaving jap stuff trailing and wailing in it's wake

I would really like it to go to someone on here, a Buell enthusiast, but unfortunately will need to sell elsewhere if not through here

1998 S1 White Lightning

12 months MOT, 6 months tax
16081 miles
Polished and de-lugged X1 swinging arm
New rear suspension unit (Buell recall)
Race ECU
Vance and Hines exhaust muffler
2001 X1 gear linkage
Full US gearing
Trojan Horse after market foot pegs

10,000 mile service plus various upgrades and mods at the Emporium, as below:

Camcases cut down and polished
2006 oil pump drive and upgraded oil pump
Re routed oil lines
Upgraded primary tensioner and detent
Fit Mikuni HSR42 carburettor and Force winder air filter
Replace gearbox main shaft needle roller bearings

44 hours work by at this time (July 2008)

Brand new Michelin Road 2CT tyres

Recently just had 2,500 service at the Emporium, plus new battery.

I have quite a lot of the original parts for this bike as various bits have been replaced/upgraded including ECU, bread box air filter, standard muffler, original carb, foot pegs, gear linkage, UK gearing etc.

As I said above, the bike does need some TLC, it needs a damn good polish as there is some surface corrosion to the ally bits, and there are a few knocks (paint damage only) to the frame and wheels.

I have had the fuel tank re-painted (may 2009), but it is starting to bubble again, worst is underneath.

The rear cylinder base gasket is also blowing at the front edge.

The personalised registration of B9UEL is NOT included in the asking price, but is available separately if required. Otherwise I will transfer it onto my Uly

Thanks for looking, it's always sad when someone comes back on here with a Tuber for sale, but I'm afraid needs must and nostalgia doesn't pay the bills....

Now to try and post some pictures........

I also have, that will be included, the original owners hand book, two spare ignition keys and a genuine hard copy 1998 S1 Lighting service manual (A4 ring binder).
