For a few years now I've been suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome in the palm of my right hand which is incredibly painful and brought on during long journeys ( inc tours over to Spain and Italy ) on my X1 Lighting special ( based on a 2000 Millennium with S3 tank, Blue Streak paint, lots of polished alloy and some other goodies) which I've owned from new. It seems to be caused by vibration through the bars at a couple of hundred rpm either side of 2500rph and whilst I now try to stay out of this rev range as much as possible it isn't always easy in traffic and I've tried changing the grips including experimenting with foam grips but to no avail.

Elsewhere in these forums I am seeking advice from anyone who has experience of riding the BMW R1150R ( or similar engined boxter models ) and a Buell tuber since I have read reports on the latter which speak of uncomfortable levels of vibration through the bars at speed.

Whilst it would break my heart to sell my X1 it may have to come to that but it would be less of a wrench to sell the number plate which is currently allocated to it and which is V2 HLY.

I'm thinking of emailing the sales departments of every HD dealer in the country to ask if they have a wealthy customer with deep pockets who might want it but any other suggestions on how to market this would be most welcome.

Richard

Ah right, I see. I didn't see it...

Why not advertise it on a Harley site? Bet they are into that sort of stuff.

Its just a registration and it doesn't say harley, I doubt you'll get anyone forming a queue for it on a Buell forum.

I wouldn't give you tuppence for any number plate but have you tried emu oil for your carpel tunnel problem? It works.

Thank you for explaining that. Most helpful.

Thanks for the tip on the emu oil. I'm usually highly sceptical about such things but a bit of Internet research throws up some positive claims to add to your own. Can I ask where you source yours from because I gather there is a lot of fake stuff ( as there is with most on-line medicines ) on the market?

Regards

Richard

PS - I've now pretty much made up my mind to sell my X1 ( see X1 vs BMW 1150 thread in the Buell chat section ) and would like to think that it's one of the best around. No doubt some of the trolls on here will say different.
