Nice looking bike. 6k ish. But in reality it's worth what somebody is prepared to pay and that depends on how many 09 xb12ss are for sale at this time. Not many and the price goes up. Lots and the price goes down. Still a nice bike though :yup:

With my true honestly glass's on I would say that because it is the -
wrong time of year
The unusual plate -- I would certainly knock money off assuming that you have already added in to the price
The pillion seat on this style of bike is not very practical. so not for me.
There is a 1700 mile bike on e bay for £6250 that almost certainly will drop in price or not sell. Plus a dealer has 2005 plate bike with 8 thou on it FSH for £4990. so in a private sale £5000 tops.

Personally I wouldn't think that you would get much more than 4500 -- 4750 if you sold it to a private buyer & £4000 -- 4200 to a dealer for a trade in if he knows he can move it quickly.
If you put it on e bay possibly between £3500 -- 4500 depending on who is looking at the time.

Sorry but this is said after spending a bit of time looking around & seeing the value in the metal & what people will pay in real terms not asking price.

I know it's not what you want to hear but that seems to be the reality as seen by me.

A very realistic assumption

As a recent purchaser of another model myself, I would have to say that Bert's comments are pretty close.

Any buyer with any sense will be looking at what's out there in comparison and will also note what's not selling (the overpriced bikes that sit there for weeks on end) and those that are. If you look at it from a buyers perspective you can get a good idea of where to pitch the price as a seller.

Another important thing for you is to set yourself the minimum price you'd be happy to sell at - people expect to haggle a bit so don't find yourself with a potential buyer and lose out for the sake of not being able to drop a little unless you make it clear in the ad "no offers" If you simply can't affiord to sell at a realistic price (Whatever you think the right price might be) it might be better to wait until spring or rethink it.

It's not all about price - a factor for me was also location because if I were looking at travelling a few hundred miles to see something and then pick it up, it all adds to the cost and convenience factor. I ended up finding something 25 miles away which was fantastic but hundreds of extra pounds in travel costs would have make me think about it if the price was on the high side as well. There isn't much you can do about that apart from be as accomodating as possible in times for people to visit.

Don't forget to highlight any extras such as your remus exhaust as, again, these are all things that play on a buyers mind and if you have got some nice extras it can make the difference in you getting a higher price than a completely standard bike - personally I was looking for anything like an exhaust and free sprits tensioner. As long as it's the general mods and not something that might not appeal to everyone you can score points there.

Hope that helps and good luck
