As per title, I have a pair of genuine Buell S1 saddlebags (aka throwover panniers) c/w raincovers. Part No. 91281-96Y. As pictured
here on page 10, item E.
They are in as new condition, no marks, tears, splits, frays etc. The
instructions show two small 'L' brackets (seen in the first 'upskirt' picture) which mount under the indicators for the rear hooks to engage in; now I do not have these, but they look like the short angle brackets used in kitchen fitting (!) or they would be simplicity itself to fabricate. However, I have successfully used the bags without the brackets, joining the two hooks together with a short length of bungee cord (supplied), this of course means that no ugly bracketry is left on the bike when the bags are not in use.
Google currently brings up a complete new 3-piece set (Part No.91280-96Y, which includes a tail bag) for sale in Holland at Euro 351 and a second-hand set in the US for $398.
But when I say
for sale, what I actually want, what I really really want, is a pair of the early M2 equivalents instead, Part No. 91283-97Y as pictured
here on page 10, item F. So.... I am ideally seeking a swap with cash adjustment either way depending on condition etc. Yeah, I know, chasing rainbows.
Alternatively I may be persuaded to sell at a price that enables purchase of same... any help locating a pair of these would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks,
Rik
