Post subject:  Triumph T150 Trident
I know its not a Buell but a friend of mine is selling one of his Tridents, and he may buy a Buell if he sells it as he really likes my S1. It has been completely rebuilt and restored and he is looking to get 10 Grand back on it which is a lot less than he has put in it , if anyone is interested send me a message and I will put you in touch with him, he hasn't advertised it as he cant be bothered with all the idiots that you get contacting you through the normal channels. I dont know very much about the old Triumphs so if you need more info let me know , I will find out or pass you on to my pal. He lives just outside Glasgow.

Sadly, from what I can see, that kind of money buys nothing of note made in the 1960/70's that you or I would consider "worth" ten thousand quid. The world has gone completely bonkers when that kind of money goes nowhere shopping in that era of two wheeled hardware.

I have no idea of the market for these bikes as I say its for a pal , but as I have always said the bikes that command the best prices are the ones desired by the people with the most disposable income ( usually people in their 50's early 60's) the people that were into the old British stuff are getting a bit older and demand and value will start to drop, I see the price of my old 2 strokes dropping a bit in favour of RD Lc's and the likes as they were the bikes that the people at the right age owned and desired when they were young. I keep hearing they are only going one way ect, they will then they will go the other way eventually as no one will remember them or want them.

I agree with the sentiments expressed. Everyone understandably wants the best price to sell assets. But myself, given my kids and nobodies kids I know have any interest in bikes, then I cannot see the typical 60/70's bike being a long term store of value. How can they be when the next generation has no interest in them? Obviously, at the very top end, it's quite different. Just like top end classic cars. But is the next generation really going to view dross like Bantams and CB360's as desirable assets? I think not. They were total shit the first time round. And 50 or 60 years passing hasn't improved them.

Nice Trident and likely to be many buyers around at ten grand. But not for me thanks. Good luck to the seller.

I bought mine from my mate in 1980 for £50 which I paid for in 50p's
in a cigarette tin that I saved up from my paper round, I thought I done a shrewd bit of business selling it for £70 a year later, he still reminds me when we see these fizzy's for sale for thousands.

Yes 70s bikes are currently in vogue, but I have to say that a well sorted 70s Trident was/is one of the most soulful bikes I have ever ridden. ;)

When I was 4, my dad used to put me in front of the tank on his T120 and take me round the block a couple times. Loved 2 wheeled things ever since.

As much as I cherish the memories, I'd rather buy a new version of their classic lines. Same price as this guy is asking but better in every way and still looks the part.
