I think it is time to sell my 1999 X1.

It has been a lot of fun, and is certainly a talking point if that's your thing!

Whilst I had been starting this up regularly through the winter, it has now been sat unused since its MoT ran out in March/April time, and that is part of the problem. With real-life things happening at that time, I tucked it away at the back of the workshop and didn't drain the fuel tank... lesson to us all here. So it now looks as though my oversight has wrecked what had been a brand new fuel pump. I have removed this from the tank today and discovered it resembles something from the engine room of the Titanic, with both pump terminal connectors rotted away, and then some.

So it is either up for sale as-is, first £2,500 gets it, no offers.
And if you need to hear this running (I perfectly understand you would), you are going to need to bring an X1 fuel tank (with working pump!) plus fuel, and we can go from there.

Or if there is enough interest in the various parts, I will dismantle it to order.

Either way, whole or parts, collection is from Southampton, I cannot deliver or post.

With all the work that has gone into this, as well as the reasons for stowing it away in the first place, not sure what other direction to take this.

I hope to be able to look in here most days and will do my best to respond to genuine enquiries.
